Who we are
Rossa (the "App") is an iOS application made and operated by Erwan Rombo (trading as Borombo), an independent software developer registered in France ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Information stored on your device
Rossa is designed to work without an account. The core of what you do in the App, including your sessions, streaks, notes and preferences, is stored locally on your device and is not sent to us. If you delete the App, this on-device data is removed with it.
Information collected through third-party services
To run and improve the App, we use a small number of third-party tools. Through them, the following may be collected:
- Usage analytics: events about how the App is used (screens viewed, features used), plus standard technical data like device model, operating system version, language, app version, and app-generated identifiers. Collected via PostHog and Google Firebase Analytics.
- Crash & diagnostics: crash logs, error reports, and related device state that help us find and fix bugs. Collected via Sentry.
- Purchases: your subscription and purchase status and related transaction identifiers, so the App can unlock premium features and restore purchases. Managed via RevenueCat. Payments themselves are processed by Apple; we never receive your full payment-card details.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your precise or approximate location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- We do not show ads, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.
Notifications
If the App offers reminders and you enable them, they are scheduled locally on your device. Their content is not transmitted to us.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App;
- To understand how features are used and decide what to build next;
- To diagnose crashes and fix problems;
- To process and restore purchases;
- To comply with legal obligations.
Sharing and disclosure
We share information only with the third-party service providers listed below, who process it on our behalf, and where required to comply with the law or to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others. We do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services
The App relies on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Apple: App Store and payment processing
- RevenueCat: purchase management
- PostHog: product analytics
- Google Firebase: analytics
- Sentry: error monitoring
Data retention
On-device data is kept until you delete it or uninstall the App. Analytics and diagnostic data collected through our providers is retained according to their policies and our settings, generally no longer than necessary for the purposes above (typically up to 24 months for analytics), after which it may be kept only in aggregate.
Your rights
Because we operate from the EU, you have rights under the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to data portability. You can stop all further collection at any time by uninstalling the App. To make a request about data held through our providers, email us at contact@borombo.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
Children
Rossa is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data on servers outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
